Big Question #1

How might we strengthen youth involvement in community decisions?

Youth are a large part of every community, but often struggle to find avenues for their voices to be heard. What if we changed that?

Big Question #2

How might we increase health and wellness through a youth news publication?

Youth have so much to contribute -- starting with energy and creativity! How can we spread that around?

Big Question #3

About BorealCorps
BorealCorps is a children's newspaper and communication club originally sponsored by Boreal Community Media, a 501(c)(3) non-profit Minnesota corporation serving the North Shore www.boreal.org,  through a generous grant of the Blandin Foundation https://blandinfoundation.org/ 2017-2018.

After a year without funders, BorealCorps is back!
As of 2020, we are now sponsored by Minnesota Children's Press  www.minnchildpress.org and its Story Scouts program www.storyscouts.org.

Minnesota Children's Press is a new 501(c)(3) non-profit tax-exempt public charity based in Grand Marais and determined by the IRS to be a tax-exempt public charity in fall 2019. Our goal is to engage rural kids in community-building and civic philanthropy early in life. We have members in grade 2 through high school working to provide local stories and oral histories to emphasize community  and connections.

To donate tax-free or help sponsor our community events, please contact us: howdy@borealcorps.org
