Welcome to the Children's Newseum!
...a sampling of youth-produced news

In spring 2017, Cook County students will become the first group chosen to staff an expansion of  youth-produced community newspapers that began in 2009 at the Minnesota Institute for Talented Youth in St. Paul.

In the past, each year students named and designed their own newspaper, producing both a print and digital edition. This year in Cook County, students will contribute community news in digital formats, including podcasts and video, to the new boreal.org website as a reporting team called  Boreal Corps.

About BorealCorps
BorealCorps is a children's newspaper and communication club originally sponsored by Boreal Community Media, a 501(c)(3) non-profit Minnesota corporation serving the North Shore www.boreal.org,  through a generous grant of the Blandin Foundation https://blandinfoundation.org/ 2017-2018.

After a year without funders, BorealCorps is back!
As of 2020, we are now sponsored by Minnesota Children's Press  www.minnchildpress.org and its Story Scouts program www.storyscouts.org.

Minnesota Children's Press is a new 501(c)(3) non-profit tax-exempt public charity based in Grand Marais and determined by the IRS to be a tax-exempt public charity in fall 2019. Our goal is to engage rural kids in community-building and civic philanthropy early in life. We have members in grade 2 through high school working to provide local stories and oral histories to emphasize community  and connections.
